Narrative Game - Link to the game
My role - In depth research on Dissociative Identity disorder. Secondary research done referring to various papers published by medical professionals. Since I could not get in touch with someone with this disorder I tried to understand their perspective through various interview videos available online.
With the research and understanding this disorder I was able to further design the game which I based on a child who is figuring out that he has various alters through his daily tasks. I designed it to be a single character in one room kind of game where the different personalities are the different characters of the game.
For the development part of the game, I created the environment of the game on unity using assets from the asset store. Using C# i was able to code the movements and interactions with objects. Since it was a narrative game I was able to create a dialogue box on unity itself.
The game follows the journey of a teenager who suddenly discovers about their alters and that they have Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID). As they navigate through their everyday life, they begin to realize that they have multiple identities or alters, each with their own distinct personality .
As players progress through the game, they will start unfolding the mystery of their amnesia, while also managing their alters and learning to work together with them to overcome challenges and obstacles.
In the game the character has to deal with school, family, and social pressures while trying to understand their own identity. Through conversations and interactions with their alter
The game will provide various game feel such as immersive and emotional narrative that helps players better understand the complex nature of mental health issues like DID.
